On May 19th Misty succeeded in convincing the Daily Star she was a per-op transsexual in the final line-up for Channel 4 show "Big Brother"
This resulted in her making the front page and also being the days special feature, even making it into the tongue-in-cheek cartoon featuring Gordon Ramsay.

Wannabe Stephen Goddard was up for Big Brother because he needed the 70,000 prize money for a sex-change op. The 22 year-old transsexual caused a stir when he turned up at an audition for the hit Channel 4 show and announced Call me Misty.

Stephen made it through to the short-list of 50 potential housemates for this years series, but last night TV bosses broke the bad news that hed missed out. The Nottingham lad said Im gutted. I would have been the best thing that could have happened to that show. But I wont give up. Ill get in even if I have to balloon or parachute in. He arrived for the audition dressed as his alter ego Misty Monroe-Manhattan.

Stephen said: I knew I wanted to be a woman whilst I was at school, but I kept quiet about it because I knew Id be bullied. I was only after I left school that I finally had the courage to start being the person I wanted to be. I started dressing up, and living as Misty. Shes the woman I want to be full-time. I even have a website dedicated to Misty so everyone can see my transformation
Stephen says he has already started taking hormone pills, but needs cash to pay for the full op.
After his audition in February, he was ordered not to tell a soul that hed applied because it could blow his chances. He was confident hed be picked because he knew show chiefs wanted colourful characters.
He said: They told me they were after a diverse bunch of housemates this year-and you couldnt get more diverse than me.
